    Perfectly Imperfect

    Read

2 Corinthians 4:6-9, "For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,' made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard-pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed."

    Think

Have you ever known that person who seems to have it all together? They always show up on time. They're always dressed to perfection. They always know the right thing to say. They're always prepared with exactly what's needed (even if nobody else knew it was needed). If you've ever thought that you had to have it all together to be used by God – you don't! In fact, God loves using imperfect people to reflect His glory. So, when we hyper-focus on our own ability instead of God's power, we gut the story of God's glory. Thankfully, God is perfect and the Bible says when we are weak, He is strong! There's something powerful about God's glory in our imperfection and weakness: • When we lose our temper, then ask for forgiveness • When we tell a friend, "I did that in the past, but I don't do that now..." • When we are humble enough to accept help from others What we may perceive as moments of weakness, aren't from God's perspective. But, rather, they're perfect opportunities for His light to shine through us. Others will take notice and see that this "all-surpassing power is from God and not from us." And, in that, our story becomes a display of God's amazing glory!

    Act

Don't let your imperfections and weakness be an excuse for not reflecting the glory of God. Start by being honest with God and confess your weaknesses and imperfections. Then ask Him to powerfully reflect His glory in all you say and do.

    Pray

God, I'm so thankful that You can use me despite my flaws and that, through Jesus, You forgive my imperfections. Please show Your power in my weakness so that others give You the glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
