    Passionate Purpose

    Read

Exodus 2:11-12 "Many years later, when Moses had grown up, he went out to visit his own people, the Hebrews, and he saw how hard they were forced to work. During his visit, he saw an Egyptian beating one of his fellow Hebrews. After looking in all directions to make sure no one was watching, Moses killed the Egyptian and hid the body in the sand."

    Think

Moses saw the suffering of one of his own people and became passionate about helping. Unfortunately, Moses passionately took things into his own hands instead of considering what God wanted. The initial result was the murder and subsequent cover-up of an Egyptian. That led to a loss of influence with Moses's own people and him eventually becoming a fugitive, spending 40 years of obscurity in the wilderness. Passion is a good thing! But misplaced passion can be a destructive thing. Don't let your passion run wild like Moses and cause more harm than good. Instead, leverage your passion to accomplish something great by aligning your passion with God's purpose and plans for your life.

    Act

When you feel that stir of passion for a cause, project, or person – take a moment to pray and ask God to align your passion with His purpose and plan. United with God, your passion can lead to action that leaves a lasting impact! For more of Moses's story read Exodus 2:13-25.

    Pray

My Father in Heaven, thank You that You allow us to live a passionate and purposeful life. Please align my passion with Your purpose and plans so that I can be a part of the great things You want to do. In Your name I pray, Amen.
