    Our Ever-Present Judge

    Read

Matthew 10:28,  "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell."

    Think

"The Fear of God is a continual, 24/7 awareness that I'm in the presence of a holy, just, and almighty God..." Have you ever made a mistake, big or small, and felt the constant need to look over your shoulder after realizing what you'd done? Watching our back is a natural reaction when we know we've fallen short of an expectation. The fear of facing our mistakes is something we all deal with. But, too often, we forget that the true judge of our mess-ups already knows about them! The word omniscient means "knowing everything." God is omniscient. He knows and sees every aspect of our lives. There's nowhere we can turn to hide our mistakes from Him. And as scary as it is to be held accountable for our actions, a healthy fear of God also reminds us of His ever-present power in our lives. Understanding and accepting God's omniscience and almighty presence brings about that kind of healthy fear. It also helps us to see our world and our lives through His eyes. And, it brings us closer to Him and to the path He has for us!

    Act

Take a look in the rear-view mirror of your life, and reflect on all of the moments you've seen God's presence in your life. Starting today, begin journaling a little every day to keep a record of how God is moving in your life. Having these physical reminders to look back on will help you stay close to Him throughout your day!

    Pray

Dear Lord, thank You for being a present and omniscient God I can build a relationship with. Today, help me to see my actions and the people around me through Your eyes. Keep me on the path You have intended for me and remind me of Your great justice and power. In Jesus' name, Amen.
