Ephesians 2:8-10,
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Think
"When we get over the grace of God, we become dangerous to the work of God." Have you ever thought God could never use you because of your past? If there ever was someone whose past would disqualify them, it was the author of this verse, Paul. Before becoming a Christian, Paul's mission was persecuting and murdering Christ-followers. Paul never got over God's grace. What is grace? God's favor and love we can never earn and don't deserve. Perhaps the main reason Paul was so prolific in leading so many people to Jesus, was because he understood the power of the grace of God in his own life. The moment you forget about God's grace in your life is the moment you become judgmental, negative, prideful, and you let little things break apart big relationships in your life. It turns your life into a reservoir of resentment and regret. But when you celebrate God's grace, your life becomes like a river, where God's love and power flows through. Is your life a river or a reservoir?
Act
It's good to regularly take a look in the rearview mirror of your life and see what God has brought you through. Spend a few minutes journaling things he's forgiven you of, helped you overcome, or blessed you with.
Pray
God, thank you for your grace. You don't give me what I do deserve, instead you give me what I don't deserve. Help my life be a river that your grace flows through. In Jesus' name, Amen.
