Read
Acts 13:48-49,
"And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and all who were appointed to eternal life believed. And the word of the Lord spread throughout the entire region."
Matthew 4:19,
"And He said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.'"
Think
"High tide or low tide, we still fish." Have you ever told two people the exact same thing, but gotten a completely different response from each of them? That is exactly what just happened to Paul. Paul was preaching to two different groups of people, telling them about the life-changing power of Jesus. One group rejected it, but the others received it. God never called us to be
catchers of men, but rather he called us to be
fishers of men. And just like a fisherman throws out his line to see what will be caught, we share the good news about Jesus with people. When we have done that, the results are in God's hands. We must do all that we can do, then allow Jesus to do what only he can do. Only Jesus can open people's eyes and speak to their hearts. This is not an excuse for us not to share Jesus, but should be an encouragement to share Jesus whenever and wherever possible. We get to work alongside him. What a privilege! Let's do our part and watch as we see Jesus change people's lives!
Act
Take the time to call or text three friends and invite them to Fellowship Church this weekend.
Pray
God, please give me the opportunity today to have a conversation with someone about Jesus. Please give me the words to say. Thank you for your love for me and the love you have for everyone I come in contact with. Amen.
