Psalm 139:24b,
"...and lead me in the way everlasting."
Think
The mantra in today's world is so often "Follow your heart." That sounds like such a politically correct thought, and it seems to give us permission to go ahead with our own plans. However, the question we have to ask is, what is our heart leading us to do? In the end, is your heart, as the Teacher in Ecclesiastes writes, chasing after the wind? Or is your heart headed down a path directed by God? Before you are led by your heart, make sure your heart is being led by the One who created it! Ask God to perform heart surgery on you and show you His path for your life, and then follow Him. While the path may not always be easy, it is ultimately for your good and God's glory!
Act
Sincerely ask God to show you His direction for that next step you are about to take in life. Seek His guidance in Scripture and through wise counsel from others who know His Word and are being led by Him.
Pray
Thank you, God, for loving me enough to have my best interest at heart. Thank you for knowing my heart better than I do. I humble myself before you and ask that You show me the direction You have for my life. Guide my steps so that You will be glorified.
