Psalm 139:1-4,
"O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I'm far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord."
Think
God is not a casual onlooker. He is not a distant nor unreachable deity. He sees and comprehends all sides of every angle, for all people, all of the time. Put simply, God knows everything, and because He comprehends the whole story at once, nothing takes Him by surprise. Now here is what is truly comforting: because God knows everything, you don't have to! Your job is to trust. Think about when you fly on an airplane-you don't know how to operate the plane. You don't stand behind the pilot, anxiously wondering what to do to get the plane off the ground. No, instead, you sit in your seat, seatbelt fastened, and drink a soda while the one who has all of the knowledge flies the plane. Today, if you find yourself trying to take over the cockpit of your life, take a deep breath, pour yourself a Coke, and trust the One who knows everything to take you where you need to go. Oh, and one more thing. God loves you and He chose you, in spite of knowing everything you would ever think, say, or do!
Act
Make a list of the people and areas of your life, both private and public, that cause you the greatest worry and anxiety. Re-check your list to make certain you did not forget anyone or anything. Then, pray the prayer below.
Pray
Dear God, I believe that You are all-knowing. You know everything about me, from the beginning of my life to the end. I trust You. Today I give You (read your list out loud). I choose to stop worrying about each of these because I know You have everything under control. Amen.
