    I've Got the Power!

    Ephesians 3:20, "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us..."

     

    Think

    Many assume power comes from the outside in. They see power as a title or position which comes with authority. They believe that power is shown when we exert control over others. But real power is influence, and it increases as we serve others. Being powerful is about availability and a willingness to serve. In the story of David and Goliath, we witness God's power through David. Goliath, who carried the title of "reigning champion," was ready to obliterate anyone willing to face him. No one believed that David, a young shepherd boy, could defeat him. God, though, had other plans. David stepped out in faith and because David made himself available, God used him to take down the giant. Jesus also displayed His power when He made Himself available to meet the needs of others. He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, and brought people back to life. And then He came back to life to finally defeat sin! God wants to display that same power through you right now! You may not be the strongest, the wisest, or the most articulate. But, when you put your faith in Jesus and realize that true power comes from Him working through you, the outcome will exceed your expectations.

     

    Act

    Dear God, I can't begin to comprehend the full extent of Your mighty power. But I know that, through You, I can conquer any giant. The resurrection power of Your Son, Jesus, lives in me! Today, I make myself available. Use me to carry out Your purpose. Amen.
