Read
Hebrews 7:27,
"Jesus has done it, once and for all: offered up himself as the sacrifice." Romans 5:6,
"When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners."
Think
"The price has been paid, the sacrifice was made." Stop it! That's right. Stop. If you are trying to make the right decisions or do the right deeds to earn God's forgiveness, stop it. Why? Because we can never do enough to be forgiven by God. But the good news is, we don't have to! Jesus completed God's perfect and eternal plan to offer forgiveness to the world through his death, burial, and resurrection. To put it another way, God's plan covered what we could not cover-our sins. So rather than trying to earn God's forgiveness, start accepting God's forgiveness that has already been extended to you. Maybe this is the first time you've thought about accepting what Jesus did. Maybe it is the 400th time as you admit to God you have sinned again. Either way, stop trying to earn God's forgiveness and love. Instead, choose to live for the one who has already given you complete forgiveness and unconditional love!
Act
Take a couple of sticky notes or note cards and write the word "FORGIVEN" on them. Place them in areas you know you will see them to remind you that God's perfect plan of redemption is complete!
Pray
Lord, thank you for your plan to forgive me. Thank you that you covered what I could not. As I continue to understand your perfect plan, help me to walk in the freedom of your forgiveness.
