Psalm 119:105, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path."

    Think

"Who or what are you listening to?" Look at the story of Moses and the children of Israel. God had set them up for success. He parted the Red Sea so they could escape the Egyptian army and gave them everything they needed to survive in the wilderness for 40 days. The goal line was getting to the Promised Land and they were making a beeline for it. God told them they would face opposition, but it was theirs to take and he had their backs. But when it came time to act, they broke focus from God. Their own anxiety and fear distracted them from their forward progress. As a result, they spent the next 40 years wandering in the desert.

How many times have we listened to the negativity around us and ended up wandering aimlessly, rather than going to God's word for direction? When we listen to the skeptics rather than trusting God's word, we lose sight of his path and create our own detour. No matter the situation, God is the light we need to illuminate our path and show us how to get to the goal line.

    Act

Reflect on the last few decisions you made. Where did you go for counsel? Now write down the decisions you are facing. What does the Bible say about them? Find someone who consistently follows Christ's direction in their life and ask their advice.

    Pray

Dear God, thank you for keeping my head up and eyes fixed on you in times of difficulty. When I go through lows, help me to look to your word for strength and wisdom through anything I face. In Jesus' name, Amen.
