    In God We Trust

    Posted on Jun 10, 2018 12:00:00 AM

    Read

Proverbs 3:5-6,  "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

    Think

"If Jesus isn't Lord of all, he isn't at all." If you look at the back of a dollar bill, you'll find a four-word phrase that has the power and potential to change your life. On every bill printed, you can read "In God We Trust." Think about that phrase for just a moment. And think about where you place your trust. Is it in the money you have? Or is it in the one who provided it? We are all blessed with a pile of cash. Some of us have small piles, others have medium piles, and some have large piles. No matter how big the pile is, though, we are reminded over and over again, on every one of those dollars, that we are to ultimately place our trust in God. We aren't to put our trust in anything other than God. Because when we do, we end up playing the fool! But when we trust God with everything, we discover the kind of wisdom and direction that can only come from him. Don't be foolish by trusting in something that comes and goes, like cash. Rather, place your ultimate trust in the provider, and discover a life of freedom is truly about.

    Act

Trust is lived out in obedience. When it comes to money, God calls us to bring the first tenth (the tithe) to him. Today, make it a point to show God that you trust him. Begin (or continue) to bring the first tenth to him by going to the "Give Now" section of this app.

    Pray

God, I trust you with every area of my life, including my finances. Help me to continue living that trust out each and every day so that I can experience the freedom that comes with your plan. In Jesus' name, Amen.
