    Read

2 Chronicles 5:13-14, "It was the duty of the trumpeters and singers to make themselves heard in unison in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord, and when the song was raised, with trumpets and cymbals and other musical instruments, in praise to the Lord, ‘For He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever.' The house of the Lord was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God." Galatians 2:20, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."

    Think

In a powerful moment of thanksgiving and praise, 2 Chronicles 5:13-14 details a supernatural encounter with God. In response to their powerful worship, God filled the temple with His glory. In fact, the priests were so completely surrounded by the glory of God, they couldn't even move. Can you imagine what that must have felt like? Maybe you've been at a concert or sporting event where you stood shoulder to shoulder with thousands of people all cheering and celebrating the moment. In this case, however, the priests were rubbing shoulders with God Himself, in the presence of His glory! Now, think about this. In the New Testament, we are told repeatedly that if we know Christ personally, He lives in us and fills us with His righteousness. Like the temple in the Old Testament, the glory of God has consumed our hearts and minds. So, when we love, forgive, express kindness or faithfully commit to others, we are sharing who God is. The fullness of Christ shines through us for the world to see!

    Act

God responds to a heart full of praise and thanksgiving. Take a moment and do a quick mind dump of anything you are thankful for, knowing that everything you have is from God. Speak out loud, right where you are, and praise Him for your countless blessings.

    Pray

God, as I move through the day, may my thankfulness and praise have a profound impact on everything I say and do. I pray others will see your glory as Christ is revealed through me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
