"Our true identity is found in the Trinity!" Happy New Year! There's just something about a new year that is packed with potential and pregnant with possibilities. "New Year, New You!" Right? Every year people commit to finally hitting that financial goal, getting in shape, or restoring a broken relationship. Those are great goals to have. But too often, we can unintentionally wrap our identity up in those rather than understanding who we truly are. And if our New Year's resolution falls through, we can find ourselves dealing with an identity crisis. God reminds us that our identity isn't found in the weight we lose, the money we save or the relationships we have with others. He wants us to use those things for his glory, but they do not define who we are. God does. Nothing more, nothing less. God's love for us is a holy mystery that we will never fully understand. But it is also a profound truth that will never disappoint. So this year, whatever your goals are, remember that God loves you just as you are. Find your identity in him!

Write yourself a note and place it on your bathroom mirror. "My true identity is found in God – nothing more, nothing less!"

God, thank you for another year of opportunity. As 2019 kicks off, help me to focus on you first and foremost each day. And remind me daily that my identity is found in you and you alone. Amen.
