Isaiah 14:13-14, "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High." Psalms 30:1, "I will exalt you, Lord, for you rescued me. You refused to let my enemies triumph over me."

Think

Have you ever been in the middle of a conversation and thought, "Wow, I have been talking a lot about myself!"? We all love to talk about ourselves but look at the verse above from Isaiah. Satan is speaking. Notice the number of times he says, "I." Satan had no intention of praising God, the great "I AM." Instead, he worshiped the great "me, myself, and I." As we become more and more focused on ourselves, Satan will eventually block our line of sight and blind us to God's best. What do we do to prevent this? We have to take an "I" Exam! We have to examine our thoughts and actions. Do we ask God for help? Do we seek His guidance? Or, do we say to ourselves, "I've got it figured out. I can handle it." "I made this money, so I will do what I want." With that mentality, we'll eventually go from seeing God's path for our lives with 20/20 vision to feeling like we're walking around in a fog. A healthy "I" Exam will open our eyes to our need to turn to God and say, "I exalt you, Jesus. You rescued me and will not let me fall. You will lead me in triumph because I place my trust in You!"

Act

As you go about your day, pay attention to how many questions you ask others. Make a conscious effort to make others the focal point in your conversations. And, take the time to specifically pray for their needs.

Pray

God, bring to mind the people I need to pray for. Just as You have a vision for my life, You have a vision for them as well. Use me to help someone else see more of You today, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.
