    Holy, Holy, Holy

    Read

Isiah 6:2-3, "Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!" Colossians 1:22-23, "Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don't drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News."

    Think

The length of a relationship is not always an accurate gauge of intimacy. You can spend a lifetime with someone, yet never really know them. On the other hand, you can have one conversation with someone else and feel like you completely understand them. What's required for an intimate relationship is a mutual willingness to reveal yourselves. God already knows us. He has also provided everything necessary for us to truly know Him - through His Son and His Word. Are we responding to His self-revelation, or have we settled for a superficial knowledge of Him? In the Bible, Isaiah's understanding of the Lord deepened dramatically when he saw God and heard the resounding cries of the seraphim calling out, "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts." He was willing to respond to God honestly and openly. Nothing was ever the same for Isaiah after that. Although it's unlikely that we will ever have such a vivid vision of the Lord, we hold in our hands something no less authentic - the Word of God. If we'll immerse ourselves in His Word, absorbing its truths about God, our intimacy with Him will increase. The result will be a heart sensitive to His continual presence and a mouth that cries, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord!"

    Act

Commit yourself for the next two months to read and carefully reflect every day on the DAILY READING & PRAYER found on the Fellowship Church app. As you read and reflect, expect that God will reveal Himself in ways you have yet to see and understand.

    Pray

Heavenly Father, I want a more intimate relationship with you. Open my understanding so that, like the seraphim, I too will cry out, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord...The whole earth is filled with his glory." Amen.
