    Heaven and Earth

    Read

Genesis 2:7, "Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being."

    Think

"We all have a little bit of earth and a little bit of heaven." In this day of social media, it seems that now more than ever before there is a cry to be noticed, to matter in someone else's eyes. It's the age of "See Me, Hear Me!" Unfortunately, our desire and need for significance can't ever be satisfied by those around us. While that seems to be a bit of a hopeless statement, the truth is that our true significance is only obtainable when we look to the originator of our existence. In Psalm 139, we find that God knit us together in our mother's womb and that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Our God is a "hands-on" God. Our significance is such that he formed us with his own hands and breathed life into us. We are that precious and valuable to him. How amazing to realize that we have been personally touched and formed by the Creator of the Universe! That same Creator, God, who touched you first, hears you and sees you! It doesn't get any more significant and personal than that.

    Act

Mold something out of clay or playdoh. Imagine God doing this as he created you and knit you together in your mother's womb. He took great care in creating you!

    Pray

Heavenly Father, thank you for creating me. It's overwhelming to think that you gave me the breath of life and formed me by your mighty hand. I strive to never take that for granted. Remind me to always look to you for my significance. And when I don't feel seen or heard by those around me, help me to remember that you always see me and hear me and that is what matters! In Jesus' name, Amen.
