    Groomed for Greatness

    Read

Exodus 2:9-10, "Pharaoh's daughter said to her, "Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you." So the woman took the baby and nursed him. When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh's daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, "I drew him out of the water."

    Think

Pharaoh had ordered that all male Hebrew babies be tossed into the Nile River. But Moses' mom wasn't having it! So she put him in a basket and set him among the reeds in the river exactly where Pharaoh's daughter bathed. And with God's hand upon him, Moses found mercy in Pharaoh's daughter and grew up to be groomed for greatness as Egyptian royalty. But God had different plans for Moses. God had hand-picked Moses to lead His people, the Israelites, out of slavery. Moses would become one of the most prolific leaders of all time. God used the enemy to bless Moses and equip him to eventually rescue His own people and deliver them to the edge of "Candy Land," Canaan. Like Moses, God has a very specific purpose for us all. He often works through the enemy to bless us and groom us for greatness. The Bible tells us that God works through ALL THINGS for our good according to His purpose. That's why we should never give up hope that God is preparing us to do amazing things. In fact, we should feel immense joy wherever we are, because God has something in the works!

Our adventure begins with Moses' birth and early childhood. Read Exodus 2:1-10 to start your journey into Candy Land.

    Pray

Father God, I find great joy in knowing that You work through all things in my life. I want to fulfill the purpose You have set before me. Help me to be patient and at peace as I trust You to work on my behalf. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
