James 1:5, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."

The Coach Knows Best Much of the success of an athlete comes from how hard they train and how motivated they are to reach their goals. But taking their game to the next level comes from the expertise of the coach and the athlete's willingness to trust and apply that expertise to their game. Successful athletes act on the wisdom of the coach. The same is true in life. Any person who desires to live a life that reflects godly skill needs the wisdom of the coach. God is our coach and his wisdom is found in the Bible. Success comes when we trust the wisdom of God by applying it to our lives. Note that wisdom is not just the acquisition of knowledge, but the application of knowledge. Wisdom is putting into action what we know. James tells us to ask for wisdom, believing that God will give it in abundance. The difference between winners and losers is that winners act on that knowledge. They know the coach knows best!

    Act

Today, if you are facing a trial - be it in your family, your health, your marriage, your finances, your emotions, your character or your career - ask God to give you wisdom regarding your trial. And, when that wisdom comes, write it down and act on it.

    Pray

Dear God, today I need your wisdom regarding my ________ (fill in the blank with your trial). I thank you in advance for the wisdom you will give me. When that wisdom comes, I will put it into action.
