Read
Hebrews 13:17, "Obey your spiritual leaders and do what they say. Their work is to watch over your souls, and they are accountable to God. Give them reason to do this with joy and not with sorrow. That would certainly not be for your benefit." (NLT)
Think
It's not just about what you do, but the attitude with which you do it! In the childhood game of "Follow the Leader," the objective is to mimic the actions of the person leading the game. Likewise, God has given us leaders to follow, and some of the most significant leaders are our church pastors. We are to trust their wisdom and follow their guidance. But following them isn't just about action; it's about attitude. The Bible says we're to have an honorable attitude towards the pastors shepherding our spiritual walk. God has tasked them with the responsibility to watch over our souls. So, follow their lead and respond joyfully by exemplifying a Christ-like attitude. This will be spiritually beneficial for your pastor and for you as an obedient follower of Christ!
Act
Today, take time to write a letter or send a text to the leader you serve under and let them know how much you appreciate them. Also, pledge to serve under them with a Christ-like attitude!
Pray
Dear God, thank you for reminding me of the importance of pastoral leadership in my life. I know that everything they say and do is beneficial in my relationship with you. In Jesus' name, Amen.
