Ecclesiastes 12:13, "Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind." 1 Samuel 2:30, "...honor me and I will honor..." Psalm 37:4, "Delight yourself in the LORD, And He will give you the desires of your heart."

Every day we are auditioning for a role in the story of life. We are striving to earn the spotlight on center stage. We rate our performance by the applause we receive, how many people are watching, and whether or not we had a flawless execution. But what if the role we are supposed to play is a supporting role in a much bigger story – a story that features Jesus in the starring role? We spend so much time caught up in the execution of our own performance that we often forget to recognize the One who gave us the role in the first place. Our purpose in life is not to make ourselves famous, but to make God famous. We do that by making Him a priority in our own lives and making Him known to others. As we build and strengthen our relationship with God by praying, reading His Word, and aligning our actions with His truth, we will begin to recognize God at work in every area. And once we begin to see Him in everything, He becomes our everything. And when He is our everything, sharing Him with others becomes natural. Our God is an awesome God and we should joyfully boast about it! When we do, He will bless our lives and the lives of people around us.

    Act

When you take a step back and look at your life, who are you giving the credits to? Take a moment and answer these questions honestly: · Do my posts on social media make God famous? · Do my words make God famous? · Does my job bring fame to God? · Does the way I treat people bring God fame? Then, take action! What is one thing you can do today to make His name known?

    Pray

God, thank You for the role You've given me in Your great redemption story. Guide me in my words and actions as I tell others about You and what You have done in my life. Place people around me to hold me accountable when my focus starts to drift from praising Your name to praising my own. In Jesus' name, Amen.
