2 Corinthians 6:14,  "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?" Luke 9:28,  "Jesus took Peter, John, and James up on a mountain to pray."

    Think

"The right THEY have HE in the middle." A yoke is a farm tool used to join a pair of animals, like oxen, to work simultaneously to plow a field. Imagine if a farmer yoked a chihuahua with an ox! Could they function effectively in tandem? Of course not - they are vastly different at every level. In fact, they would end up going in circles. The same is true for us. As Christ-followers, God wants us to be equally yoked with others who have committed their lives to Christ. It's essential as we strive to stay on course. Does this mean we shouldn't be friends with people who aren't Christians? Absolutely not! After all, Jesus had some pretty notorious friends! Like Jesus, we should be intentional about reaching out to those living far from God. But Jesus also had a tight inner circle, even within his disciples. Who is in your inner circle? Are they teachable, honest, encouraging, and yielded to God? Are you equally yoked in your friendships or dating relationship? To live out God's best for our lives, our closest relationships must consist of people who are equally committed to God and living out his purpose for their lives.

    Pray

Dear Lord, I pray that you continue to introduce the right THEY into my life. Thank you for providing me with an inner circle of friends who love me for who I am and always point me back to you. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
