Luke 19:10, "For the Son of Man came to seek and save what was lost."

    Think

In a stunningly short amount of time, we've watched a massive restructuring of the moral universe of America. We are more divided than ever with both sides seemingly full of hate for the other. From our cities to the suburbs, we see lives full of dysfunctional choices, disastrous relationships and deadly habits. Things that at first were unimaginable, then they became plausible, then actual-and now celebrated. We are a culture in crisis! Looking around at our cultural landscape, we see people everywhere flailing about in the waters of moral destruction. They are desperately trying to keep their heads above water, clinging to flotation devices that do not work. They try to give the appearance of confident swimmers, but the truth is they are drowning! What can be done? Think "Jesus," the one-person search-and-rescue team. His job description is seeking and saving the lost. If you're drowning, Jesus is calling your name and throwing you His lifeline of salvation. Grasp it now! For those who have grabbed that line of salvation, open your eyes and heart to a culture in crisis. Be an active part of Jesus' search-and-rescue team!

    Act

There is no moral neutrality in the world. You're either part of the solution, or you're going to be part of the problem. You will never be a part of Jesus' search-and-rescue team if you don't see drowning people. Ask God to open your eyes to see, like never before, the lostness of people in your circle of influence.

    Pray

Dear God, there are lost and drowning people that I interact with every day. Make me aware of their personal pain, their moral confusion and even their stubbornness to acknowledge You as their Creator and Redeemer. I want to be part of the solution, not the problem. I choose today to be an active part of Jesus' search-and-rescue team. Amen.
