    Christmas in July

    Read

2 Corinthians9:7-8,  "You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. "For God loves a person who gives cheerfully." And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others."

    Think

"You are blessed to be a blessing." Imagine it's Christmas morning and you're antsy with anticipation. Many gifts have your name on them, but you're really excited about the gifts you placed under the tree this year for others! You've carefully considered the needs of your loved ones and what might bring them joy. As they peel back the wrapping paper to reveal the gift you've prepared for them, their smile and wide-eyed look tells how thankful they are! That same feeling occurs when you give generously of your time, talent, and treasure within the local church. You've carefully considered the needs of others and prepared a generous gift to offer. The great news, God has given us all we need to take care of our own needs and be a generous blessing to others AT ALL TIMES! As you cheerfully give out of the abundant overflow God has blessed you with, it enhances the lives of others and meets needs around the world. Giving through the local church leads others to be thankful towards God and brings you great joy knowing God used you to bless others!

    Act

In what areas of your life is God calling you to be more generous? Today is the day to start! If it's financial, then ask God to help you decide how much you should give, and give cheerfully.  Is it your time or talent? Start by saying "yes" to a new opportunity to serve others.

    Pray

Lord, thank you for your generosity in my life! You have provided for me in every way and I ask that you show me ways to be even more generous. I know you love a cheerful giver, so help me to be excited to give and expectant for the ways you will use what I give. In Jesus' name, Amen.
