    Choose This Day

    Read

Exodus 2:11, "Many years later, when Moses had grown up, he went out to visit his own people, the Hebrews, and he saw how hard they were forced to work. During his visit, he saw an Egyptian beating one of his fellow Hebrews."

Joshua 24:15, "And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."

    Think

Life is about choices. When asked to decide between two things, you can't choose both. Choice is standing at a fork in the road, having to decide which road you will travel – left or right, for you cannot travel both at the same time.

Moses stood at a fork in the road. He lived between two worlds – Egyptian royalty and Hebrew ancestry. He had to choose one or the other. There was no way he could live righteously with one foot on each side. Why? The real choice was which God would he serve: the God of Israel or the gods and goddesses of Egypt. He had to decide.

Nothing has changed today. We must also choose. Are you going to serve Jesus Christ, or are you going to live for the world? Will you choose the wide road that leads to destruction or the narrower, less-traveled road that leads to life? Straddling the fence between two worlds never works. Difference-makers don't live like that. They put both feet in for the Lord, and they allow Him to take care of business in their lives. Choose this day who you will serve.

    Act

Have you confessed Jesus Christ as Lord? Have you yielded the totality of your life to Him? Is there a choice you've been avoiding that you need to make? Choose this day who you will serve!

    Pray

Dear Jesus, I choose to follow You – not just in words, but in action. I believe that You will lead me. Help me to completely yield myself to You and follow You completely. Amen.
