Ezekiel 36:26, "And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart."

    Think

Open heart surgery is among the most delicate and difficult surgical procedures. For those whose heart is damaged, it is also critical for life. Because of that, heart patients want a surgeon who is beyond qualified. But the heart is more than the vital organ that pumps blood through our bodies. It is the very seat of our self and our spirituality. And there is only one surgeon who is able to save it – our Savior, Jesus Christ. We all have a defective heart, and we need Jesus to do what only He can do. In today's verse, we read that not only can He perform spiritual heart surgery; when we open our lives to Him, He will replace our defective and damaged heart. Have you handed your heart to the ultimate Surgeon? When you do, you will discover the everlasting power of His healing hand!

    Act

Commit to memorizing today's verse. Recognize what God wants to do in your life and trust His promise to give you a new heart. Then, respond by handing over your heart to Him!

    Pray

Dear God, I know that my heart is damaged and that only You can repair it. So right now, I hand my heart to You and ask You to perform spiritual surgery. Make me new, and grant me a heart that beats fast for You!
