2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!"

    Think

We hear a lot right now about the need for change - in government, school systems, law enforcement, and social movements. Our world does need to change, but the greatest change will come when we are each individually transformed. And, real transformation comes through a relationship with Christ. When we choose to become a Christian, we don't just change our mindset or beliefs. The Bible tells us that we are radically changed from the inside out. A great picture of this transformation is demonstrated through baptism. When we go under the water, it represents our old self dying. When we are raised up out of the water, it symbolizes the new life we have now that we have chosen to live for Jesus. The Bible tells us that when we truly live to follow Jesus, others around us will be able to see the change in us. Others will be able to see God in our words, actions and reactions as we learn to obey him in every area.

    Act

Take a moment to reflect on your story. If you have given your life to Jesus, write down how you felt before meeting Jesus then write down what you experienced after asking Jesus to come into your life. If you have not made this decision, write down what you are experiencing in your life now and what you are looking for from God.

    Pray

God, thank you for making me a new creation when I choose to follow you. Thank you for not defining me by my past but by the love you have for me. Please remind me to be thankful for the new life I have because of you. Help me to live a changed life so others can see you work through me. In Jesus' name, Amen
