    Childhood Wonder

    Read

Matthew 18:4, "Whoever becomes simple and elemental again, like this child, will rank high in God's kingdom."

    Think

Walt Disney said, "That's the real trouble with the world. Too many people grow up!" Did you notice that Jesus is basically saying the same in today's verse? Although Disney's talking about imagination and Jesus is referring to faith, they're both saying we should recapture our childlike wonder! It's a child's faith that helps them believe in something they can't yet see. As children, no one taught us to be creative; it was unlearned, natural, and unimpeded by the pressures of life. We knew no boundaries and let our minds run wild with endless possibilities. Our imaginations soared as we turned cardboard boxes into spaceships and sticks into fairy wands. Then we grew up and forgot that pursued dreams really can come true, that we're not limited by our chosen careers or current circumstances. God wants us to have childlike faith and dare to dream big dreams that will move hearts and bring glory to His name. So, stop over-thinking and remember how to think like a child. When we recapture our childhood wonder, our faith will soar as we creatively follow in our Savior's footsteps and turn our biggest dreams into reality! "If you can dream, you can do it. Always remember that this whole thing was started by a mouse!" - Walt Disney

    Act

What's a childhood dream you had that never came to be? What kept it from becoming a reality? With either that dream or a new one in mind, promise yourself to employ the childlike faith it will take to make it happen!

    Pray

Dear Lord and Creator of all wonder, Help me to have childlike faith and give me the confidence to think outside the box as I pursue my dreams. Enhance my creativity as I seek to inspire others and bring glory to Your name. Amen.
