Read:
Psalm 39:6, “Surely everyone goes around like a mere phantom; in vain they rush about, heaping up wealth without knowing whose it will finally be.”
Think:
Yesterday, I went to Target to buy two things. When I left, I had spent $98 – and forgotten the two things I had intended to purchase! I was supposed to bring cookies to a party and now my friends are getting Easter candy instead. My kids had asked me to get Christmas wrapping paper, but now they’re using a birthday gift bag. Life is just frustrating and chaotic! Just this morning, I was asking the Creator to show up. But I got caught up in the frenzied busyness and I forgot to listen to Him. I forgot to seek Him. I forgot to keep my heart in tune with His voice. Psalm 39:6 tells us “all our busy rushing ends in nothing.” I am convicted by this – all the rushing around without taking time to check with God and pay attention to WHO is around me. I am missing out on the reason for this season.
Act:
Remember to slow down and speak to God throughout your day. He is the Prince of Peace. Ask Him to reveal Himself.
Pray:
God, help me not rush past the assignments You have for me today. Help me to see the people and opportunities around me through Your eyes. Amen.
