Read:
Malachi 3:6a "I the Lord do not change."
Psalm 33:11 "But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations."
Psalm 102:27 "But you remain the same, and your years will never end."
Think:
Change stinks. Have you ever had to downsize your house and decided to purge items? It is tough! Trying to sift through what is essential, what is vital, and what is irreplaceable is hard. Your body goes through change – just give it time. If your body doesn't work as it used to, a change in diet or an exercise regime can be tough to navigate. Or you may lose your job. The change may cause your budget to not add up, and fear and anxiety will slowly slide into place. Sometimes change isn't just arduous; it is painful.
Whether we like it or not, life evolves. Nothing lasts forever – except God. God doesn't change. He has been and will always be. We serve a God who is with us through the seasons of life. He is with us through the moves, the job changes, the relational shifts, and the losses. Our God is a constant anchor.
