Matthew 6:25, 27, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life … Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”

Psalm 136:1, “Praise the Lord! He is good. God’s love never fails.”

    Think

When we see ads for the latest medicines, they often come with a long list of side effects: depression, heart disease, weight gain, headaches, etc. Worry is usually the same. Yet, unlike the current drug therapies, there’s absolutely no upside.

Today’s verse says, “Do not worry.” Anxiety can quickly gain a chokehold on our lives. But God, who breathed life into our lungs, doesn’t want us to be enslaved by unnecessary stress. To live out God’s best for our lives, we must trust Him and understand that His provision and plan never fail! He is always in control and wants us to lift our worries to Him in prayer.

As we do, it gives us room to catch our breath, and it creates space to redirect our stress and positively harness that energy to motivate us for success. The Bible says in Philippians 4:7, “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” There’s no situation His love can’t breach. God’s love NEVER fails! So, turn your worry list into a prayer list, and you’ll be amazed by the overwhelming sense of freedom you feel!

    Act

Keep Psalm 136:1 in mind today. Carry it close to your heart. When you begin to feel anxious, take a deep breath and say, “God’s love never fails!”

    Pray

Dear Lord, as I lift my worries to You, help me to remember that the peace of Christ is all-powerful and always present. So, when I begin to worry, nudge my heart to lift the situation to You. I trust You completely, knowing Your love never fails! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
