Matthew 6:25, 27, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life ... Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" Psalm 136:1, "Praise the Lord! He is good. God's love never fails."

    Think

Like ads for the latest medicines, worry comes with a laundry list of side-effects: depression, heart disease, weight gain, headaches, etc. Yet, unlike the current drug therapies, there's absolutely no upside. Today's verse says, "Do not worry." It's a word picture of someone choking. Anxiety can quickly gain a chokehold on our lives. But God, who breathed life into our lungs, doesn't want us to be enslaved by unnecessary stress. To live out God's best for our lives, we must trust Him and understand that His provision and plan never fails! He is always in control and wants us to lift our worries up to Him in prayer. As we do, it gives us room to catch our breath. It creates space for us to redirect our stress and positively harness the energy to motivate us for success. Modern medicine is a great gift, but its effectiveness is never 100% guaranteed. Not so with the peace of Christ, which transcends all understanding! There's no situation it can't breach. God's love NEVER fails! So, turn your worry list into a prayer list, and you'll be amazed by the overwhelming sense of freedom you feel!

    Act

Keep Psalm 136:1 in mind today. Carry it close to your heart. When you start to feel anxious, take a deep breath and say, "God's love never fails!"

    Pray

Dear Lord, as I lift up my worries to You, help me to remember that the peace of Christ is all-powerful and always present. So, when I begin to worry, nudge my heart to lift the situation up to You. I trust You completely, knowing Your love never fails! In Jesus' name, Amen.
