    Can't Stop. Won't Stop.

    Read

Romans 8:38, "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow-not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love." Jeremiah 31:3, "God told them, "I've never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love, and more love!"

    Think

Object constancy in relationships is the ability to maintain an emotional bond with others even where there is distance, or if a conflict arises. It's a skill we develop when we are babies. To develop this skill, we have to learn that our caregiver can be out of sight, yet still remain a constant source of love and support. Rather than needing to be with them all the time, we grow to have an "internalized image" of their love and care. So, even when they are temporarily out of sight, we still know we are loved and supported. In adulthood, object constancy allows us to trust that our bond with those close to us remains whole even when they are not physically around, picking up the phone, replying to our texts, or happy with us. We also have to develop object constancy with God. It begins by believing that God loves us. Even when we waiver, He doesn't. His love is perfect, unchangeable, and trustworthy. Nothing can separate us from it - not our past, not our future, nothing. There is absolutely nothing we can do to interrupt or interfere with it. It flows from His very nature; He is love. Then, we have to trust that His love exists even when we can't see Him at work in our lives. God's love is and always will be constant. Even though we can't see Him, we can be sure that He is right here, right now.

    Act

Although we cannot see God, we can experience Him in many different ways through His creation. As we transition into a beautiful fall season, make it a point to spend some extra time in nature. As you admire God's creation, remember that He loved you enough to create you!

    Pray

God, thank You for being a constant in my life. Everywhere I go I am surrounded by Your marvelous creation. Thank You for this reminder of Your love for me. As I continue to lean into Your love, help me be a constant source of love and support for others. In Your Son's name, Amen.
