Read:
Nehemiah 6:3 “So I sent messengers to them with this reply: ‘I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?’”
Think:
Nehemiah was a leader, taking on the formidable task of rebuilding Jerusalem following its devastating destruction by the Babylonians. He had seen the destruction of God's people and the city and was moved to action. In a remarkably short span of 52 days, Nehemiah successfully reconstructed the city walls. Despite encountering taunts and opposition from his enemies along the way, he remained unwavering in his focus and resolute in completing the mission. He refused to be derailed by the activities and opinions of those around him.
Throughout our own spiritual journeys, there will undoubtedly be moments when others fail to comprehend our God-given mission. Distractions may clamor for our attention, attempting to divert us from our paths. People may struggle to grasp our unwavering commitment to the vision at hand. Yet, in the face of such challenges, we must persevere. Opposition doesn't mean you are headed in the wrong direction.
