    Can I Get A Witness?

    Read

1 Timothy 6:12, "Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses." Hebrews 12:1, "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."

    Think

We all face daily battles and distractions - some big, some small - that can easily hinder us from God's best. That's why Scripture encourages us to "fight the good fight of faith."And we don't have to do it alone! We have "a great cloud of witnesses" cheering us on from heaven and these witnesses include some of history's most inspiring leaders. What might they be saying to us as we face various challenges? When we're drowning in doubt and want to quit, Noah's saying, "Keep going! A beautiful rainbow awaits you on the other side of the flood." In our impatience, when we're tempted to "play God," Abraham's saying, "I understand, but trust God. His timing's perfect." When we're ashamed of our past and think we're too flawed to be used by God, Rahab's saying, "I found God as a prostitute. He'll forgive you. He can definitely use you!" In today's culture, when we find it difficult to stand firm in our faith, Elijah's saying, "Be strong! Do it God's way." When we're lost and think no one understands what we're going through, Jesus is saying, "I'm here! I love you! You're not alone!" Be encouraged today as you fight the good fight of faith. Remember the words of those who've gone before you into battle and know that God is with you every step of the way!

    Act

What do you need to trust God with today? Declare it out loud and say, "I'm ready to fight the good fight of faith, empowered and protected by the Almighty God!"

    Pray

Dear Lord, You have empowered me to fight the good fight of faith. Today, no matter what I face, I know that You are with me. Protect my thoughts and give me the wisdom and patience to succeed. In Jesus' name, Amen.
