    Cake Boss

    Read

Genesis 14:18-20, "Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, and he blessed Abram, saying, ‘Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. And praise be to God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand.' Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything."

    Think

Every time we bring home a paycheck, it's like bringing home a cake. What we do with that cake speaks volumes about our priorities and commitments. It communicates the reality about who we see as the ultimate source for our blessings. In today's passage, we read about something that had never been done before. Abram, who had been blessed with some "cake," turned around immediately and brought the first slice back to God. That act was one of obedience and understanding, because Abram knew he wasn't the source of his blessings; God was. In other words, Abram saw God as the real cake boss. As you think about money, who do you see as the real cake boss? Who is the source of your blessings? Remember, our source determines our course. And when we understand that our source is God, we trust Him with every cake we make!

    Act

How do you determine who the real cake boss is in your life? It's not just about what you say; it's about what you do. So right now, commit to bringing back to God the first slice of every "cake" He provides you. A great way to start today is to begin the 90-Day Challenge which is located at FellowshipChurch.com or the Fellowship Church App.

    Pray

Thank You, God, for providing me with so many blessings in my life. Help me to continue to have the right perspective with all You have given to me, and to use it to honor You in the lives of others. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
