    Body Building

    Read

I Corinthians 6:19,  "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies."

    Think

"The church should take the lead in being concerned about what God created." Have you ever borrowed a car from a neighbor or a friend? When you borrow something that isn't yours, you take very good care of it. Someone else paid a lot of money for that, and it would be disrespectful to trash it! How are you treating your body? Physically speaking, do you eat and drink in a way that is honoring to God? Do you exercise regularly and take care of your health? Are you vulnerable with others or do you bottle up all the pressure and stress of life?  Do you allow it to cause you to over eat, over indulge, over compensate, or even overdo it on working out! This isn't about vanity, it's about value. It's recognizing that our bodies are a gift from God, worthy of being treated with respect.

    Act

Write down three tangible ways you can start taking care of yourself. Maybe its cleaning out the junk food or dusting off the bike. Maybe you need to identify someone today you can be vulnerable with and begin sharing some changes with them that you want to make. Remember, you and your body are loved by God and bought with a precious price. Take action today!

    Pray

Father, help me to see my body through your eyes. Show me how I need to care for myself, and also teach me to respect and honor my body like you are the true owner. Amen.
