1 Corinthians 12:27, "All of you together are Christ's body, and each of you is a part of it."
Think
Have you ever had a part of your body that wasn't functioning fully? A bum shoulder, a twisted ankle, an upset stomach? When one part isn't working well, your whole body is affected.
God calls us to be the hands and feet of the church – each person doing their part. We are to do His work in His way for His purpose. The church is not a building. It's people. We are what makes the church move and grow, so it's our job to do a great job!
There are three main focuses when it comes to being an active member of the local church: sharing Jesus, sowing the tithe, and serving others. You can share Jesus by telling others your story of what Jesus has done in your life and inviting them to church. You sow by bringing the first 10% of what you earn to the local church, not because God needs your money, but because God wants to teach you to fully trust Him with all you have. You serve by using your time and talents to volunteer at Fellowship Church so you can share His love and life with others!
Act
Find a piece of paper and write these three words: serving, sowing, and sharing. Throughout the day, read the piece of paper and remind yourself that God wants to use your serving, sowing, and sharing to transform the lives of those around you.
Pray
God, thank You for building the church so it could make a difference in my life. Show me how I can build the church so it can make a difference in someone else's life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
