Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity…. Hebrews 6:1

    Think

As a child, some things don’t come naturally to us. We have to learn how to walk, read, or ride a bicycle. Our parents can explain how to do these things in the most straightforward, step-by-step method, but we will never learn the skills until we make an effort to put those steps into practice. It takes time, commitment, and patience. But with consistent practice, we can learn and eventually help others learn.

Similarly, spiritual maturity isn’t a passive process. In fact, spiritual maturity requires intentionality. We must take steps to move from chair to chair around the table. And, as Jesus said, there is a cost to our growth. There is a relational cost, time cost, and financial cost that we must be willing to pay if we hope to develop spiritual maturity. While the path to spiritual maturity is simple, it isn’t always easy – and it requires commitment. Fortunately, we have many opportunities at Fellowship Church to help us carry out these commitments. And if we commit to taking these steps, we will begin to grow.

Commit to attending church consistently and finding a place to serve. Commit to attending one of our many classes and groups. Commit to reading these devotionals each day and spending time alone with God. Commit to bringing your tithes and offerings. By intentionally putting these initial steps into practice, you will be well on your way to living a spiritually mature life and helping others to do the same!

    Act

Take one step this week! If you don’t already attend a connection class, come this Sunday! You can view the times of connection classes by scrolling down to “Connection Classes” on the home screen of the FC app.

    Pray

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for providing a church that gives me the steps I need to become spiritually mature.  Help me to commit to those steps so that I can know You better.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
