Proverbs 31:10, “A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.”

    Think

Truth time! Have you ever caught yourself rolling your eyes when reading about the Proverbs 31 woman, wondering how you could possibly ever measure up to this downright saint of a woman? She undoubtedly had weaknesses and faults, but she was noted for fulfilling her God-given role as a wife. So, let’s take a closer look at why she was such a blessing to her adoring husband:

“Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value (vs. 12)”

    — Her husband trusted her entirely and gained from her overall competence and wisdom.

“She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life (vs. 23)”
She kept her husband’s best interest in mind and showed him the respect crucial to his overall success.

Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her (vs. 29)
God blessed her because of her obedience, and, as a result, her family was blessed.

Trustworthy, competent, wise, selfless, loving, and obedient to God  — these are some of the qualities that people saw in the Proverbs 31 woman to note that she was a wife of noble character. You, too, can achieve such honorable mention as you seek God, stray from sin, and selflessly serve your spouse and others,  because your life is worth “far more than rubies!”

    Act

Wives, strive to be like this woman of character but don’t beat yourselves up if you fall short occasionally.

Husbands, adore your wives, giving them the security they crave.

Singles, celebrate your singleness today and allow God to shape you. Trust that God has incredible plans for your future!

    Pray

Heavenly Father, Thank You for providing such an excellent example of a godly woman. Help me be the person You created me to be and equip me to fulfill my life roles so that You may be praised. Amen.
