Have you ever gotten a “sneak peek”? It entices and thrills us to catch a glimpse of what is to come, but it is meant to create anticipation as we prepare to see the full thing!

When we study Revelation, we are promised that we will be blessed. That promise is not only realized when we understand it; we are simply told that when we read it, we are blessed. How is that? Though we won’t fully understand the images and truths revealed, our blessing comes as we are given a glimpse into the future. God, in His sovereign nature, has allowed us a sneak peek at what is to come. When we realize that, it puts us in a position of humility and awe. To know that the God of the universe is sharing with us that which is “yet to be” is to understand an aspect of His love for us. As you read Revelation, read it with that sense of wonder and awe. Praise God for the fact that He has allowed us to see something that is yet to happen! And be filled with anticipation!

Act

Revelation 1:12-18. As you do, keep in mind the fact that this is a picture of our Lord and Savior in His rightful position – a position of authority and power. Allow this passage to put you in a place of humility before Him.

Pray

God, I stand in awe of You and what You have allowed us to have through Your Word. Thank You for revealing that which no one else could – the future and what lies ahead. Help me to make the most of today as we anticipate Your return! Amen.
