Read
“Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it because the time is near.” Revelation 1:3
Think
Yesterday we looked at this verse and pointed out that God gave us the Book of Revelation to be a source of comfort when our world is in chaos. When we see signs that the end is nearing – natural disasters, persecution of Christians, violence, sexual immorality – they remind us that God is not caught by surprise. He is with us and, in the end, He wins!
It’s natural to question, “When will He return?” However, the question we really should be asking is, “How should I live?” For those of us who are Christ-followers, the Book of Revelation isn’t a scary book. It’s not in the Bible to frighten us. It is, though, something that should encourage us and inspire us. And, as we “take to heart what is written,” it should motivate us to make as much difference as we can today.
Today, focus on what God wants you to DO and who He wants you to BE. The world is dark; instead of focusing on the WHAT of Revelation, be a light to point others to the WHO of Revelation – Jesus Christ!
Act
Remember that hope is found in God’s Word. Write down today’s verse and use it as encouragement and inspiration to reach out to others.
Pray
God, thank you for the opportunity to be an example of Your love and purpose for the world. Show me opportunities in my day to share my faith. Amen.
