Wonder Woman

Read

Luke 2:19, "But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart."

Think

"Trust is a must!" Alter-egos allow superheroes to live anonymously in society. As Diana Prince, Wonder Woman is no different. Yet she is always alert and ready, when needed, to wisely use her powers to bring justice to the world. While Mary may not have had Wonder Woman's strength or a lasso of truth, she had her own superpower that was even more astounding – a willing heart. People around her would have never guessed that Mary would be chosen as the mother of the Messiah, Jesus Christ! But her response showed who she really was. When an angel told her of this gift, her response was simply, "I am the Lord's servant... May your word to me be fulfilled..." (Luke 1:38). In that moment, she became wonder woman! Have no doubt: Mary faced some difficult days. But she was willing to trust God's plan even when it did not make sense. And God gave her the power to follow his purpose for her life through every high and low, through every moment of victory and every moment of grief. Do you need peace amid uncertainty? Make Mary's words, your words. "I am the Lord's servant. May your word to me be fulfilled." Give Him complete control and trust Him with the totality of who you are.

Act

"Willingness" is a choice. Complete this sentence: "Lord, I'm not sure I can _______________, but I'm willing to trust you to show me your plan. Today I will be obedient and _______________."

Pray

God, I'm willing to follow you today. Help me to step out of your way and trust you to fulfill your plans for my life. Guide my steps and actions according to your plans and not mine. In Jesus' name, Amen.
