Read: John 3:16; Titus 2:11
Think: Have you ever been to an exclusive restaurant or club? Maybe you have been to an elite training facility where only certain types of people get to work out?
When Jesus wrote “whoever” in John 3:16, He unrolled the welcome mat of heaven to humanity. “Whoever” invited all of mankind to respond to God. Jesus could have easily narrowed the scope, increased the qualifications. But “whoever” exports His grace to everyone. Jesus was a friend to the outcast; He chased after the friendless. His love knew no limits.
“Whoever” is a “however.” We are all sinners, however Jesus loves us no matter what. Just like the thief on the cross beside him, He saves us — no status too low, no hour too late.
Application: Accept the free gift of salvation. Tell someone today of His love for them.
Pray: Thank You, Jesus, for Your unending, unwavering love. Thank You for dying on the cross, not because I am worthy, but because You wanted a relationship with me. Amen.
