WHATEVER!

Philippians 4:4-9,  "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me-put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you."

Think

"Think right, feel right, act right." You know the unsettling feeling when anxious thoughts begin turning on the rotisserie grill of your mind. Before long, it begins to affect your mood, your attitude, your actions – even your sleep! Stop and reflect for a moment. What's racing through your mind right now? Is it work, family, deadlines, commitments, responsibilities, problems, mistakes? Are you replaying a scene, having conversations with yourself, or perfecting a cover story? Hit the pause button on your thoughts and present those concerns as requests to God. Just pray about them. Then, right where you are, say "WHATEVER" out loud. Say it. You can do it. Any time those thoughts come rushing back, simply say: "WHATEVER! I'm going to refocus my mind on whatever is...right, lovely, and pure." Watch how changing your thoughts begins a chain reaction that impacts your feelings, your actions, and your entire outlook on life!

Act

Take your right hand and put up three fingers spread wide. Do you see the "W"? Say WHATEVER again with authority while waving the three-finger-dub around. Next time those thoughts come to mind this will be a reminder of your victory!

Pray

God, help me to hear the whisper of "WHATEVER!" Take captive my anxious thoughts and replace them with a 'WHATEVER' way of thinking. I desire to think your thoughts and put what you teach me into practice. In Jesus' name, Amen.
