1 Corinthians 12:27, “All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.”
Hebrews 10:24-25, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
With over 70 organs, 200 bones, and a human heart that beats over three billion times in an average lifespan, the human body is miraculous, mysterious, and marvelously intricate by design. God created each part to function in coordination, working together as a whole. That’s why it so perfectly illustrates the church, the body of Christ.
YOU are an integral part of the body of Christ! God has gifted you with unique talents to leverage within His church to help the entire body function properly. And now, more than ever, it’s crucial that all of the members of the church stay connected!
God intended our time at church to be a blessing we anticipate, not an obligation we endure. Each week, we get to connect with others while making lasting friendships. We get to serve alongside one another to provide an excellent, welcoming environment where everyone can experience God. We get to give generously as we invest in eternity. And, we get to experience God personally through the teaching of His Word to “charge up” for the week ahead.
Many people are hurting, lonely, and afraid. That’s the beauty of the local church! It’s the hope of the world! We are better together! That’s why it’s so important to obey God’s command to “not give up meeting together” because, no matter what, God’s house will prevail!
Now, more than ever, the entire body must continue to act, walk, worship, and live as ONE. Choose to stay connected and plug into all that God’s doing through the local church!
Use the following yes/no statements to evaluate how much you prioritize the church in your life:
Father, Thank You for giving me a vital role within the body of Christ! Guide me to set an example as I seek to fulfill my purpose for Your glory. And help me to encourage others and spur them on toward love and good deeds. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
