It's been said, "Imitation is the best form of flattery." Conversely, you know what's never been said? "I want to learn from the worst." In anything we do, whether it's cooking, parenting, solving math equations, or playing an instrument, we want to learn from the experts in that field. In today's verse, we see that God wants us to observe those who are good at what they do. What inspires their creativity and work ethic? What responsible tactics do they employ on a daily basis? How do they lead others? What do they do to keep bettering themselves? The answer is simple: the greatest, most creative teachers are teachable. And the best leaders are incurable learners. Within the learning process, God places authorities over us to help us in our spiritual walk. If a leader you hope to emulate critiques you, accept it. Embrace the opportunity and apply it within your own creative process. Copying and learning from the best is a gift, an opportunity that only fools pass up. And, remember, the best teachers recognize God as their Ultimate Mentor!

Dear Lord, You are the Ultimate Mentor! Thank You for the opportunities You've given me to learn from the best. Help me to remain teachable and open to critique in any area that I need improvement. In Jesus' name, Amen.
