Walking with God

Read:

Hebrews 11:5-6 “By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: 'He could not be found, because God had taken him away.' For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

Genesis 5:24 “Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.”

Think:

Do you find joy in taking leisurely, meandering walks through picturesque, grassy meadows? Or perhaps you prefer taking a relaxing stroll through your neighborhood with your dogs?

"Walking by faith" is a phrase that you will often hear in spiritual conversations. It sounds like a simple, straightforward process. However, let's take a closer look at the story of Enoch. He walked with God, and God took him away so that he didn't experience the agony of death. On the surface, this appears simple, but the key is that Enoch consistently pleased God. Walking with God means we strive to please him daily by surrendering our will and desires, placing our faith in him. It is an active choice that sometimes has to be made against resistance and in the face of opposition.

Walking with God is not a physical act, but a spiritual one. It requires daily surrendering of our own selfish ambitions and committing to follow God's guidance and will for our lives. Only then can we please him, and only then can we fully walk by faith.
