Think:

This week, we are delving into the realm of our thought patterns. We've already journeyed through truth, noble thinking, and the concepts of right and pure thoughts. Today, our exploration continues as we dive into the next two aspects: "whatever is lovely and whatever is admirable."

Consider the things that hold value in your life – whether prized possessions, other people, or even yourself. As Paul asks us to "think about whatever is lovely," he isn't merely referring to picturesque beaches or captivating landscapes, although they are not to be dismissed. What Paul truly emphasizes is that the thoughts – the lovely, God-made pictures we allow into our minds – should be gateways that draw our hearts closer to God.

"Admirable" or "good report," as seen in other versions, offers another filter through which to sift our thoughts. Think about the language you use – the words from television, social media, and conversations. Are these words reflective of good intentions towards others? With the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, our thoughts, office jokes, and casual banter – they are not hidden. God yearns for us to be more than observers; he desires us to be catalysts for change. By allowing our minds to dwell on what is pleasing to God, we position ourselves to bring positive impact and light to the world around us.

Have you fallen more in love with Jesus because of what you dwell on? Think about the amazing creation and Creator. Thank him for surrounding you with his greatness and majesty.

Pray:

God, you are the source of my thoughts and I give you complete control of my mind. Allow me to realize when I am placing myself in a compromising position and give me the strength and courage to step away. In Jesus' name. Amen.
