The Letters

Read

1 Corinthians 10:11, "These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come."

Think

"The Bible was not written for our information, it was written for our transformation!" From Romans to Jude, the letters in the New Testament were written to serve as a guidebook for Christian living. Although they're addressed to various audiences, churches, and people who lived 2,000 years ago, they are just as relevant to our lives today. And even though they weren't written TO us, they were written FOR us! This portion of Scripture deals with issues like marriage, conflict, forgiveness, perseverance, finding purpose, relating to your boss, having joy in all circumstances and glorifying God in all we do. But, all of this wisdom, knowledge and information is useless without application. For example, we can know how to drive a car, but what good does that do us if we never leave the driveway? It gets us nowhere. Therefore, information without application is an abomination! Life-change is about transformation through application. Are you growing in your relationship with Christ through active faith or are you stuck in the driveway of your life watching other cars pass by?

Act

As you study the Bible, allow the Bible to study you. Spend a few moments reflecting on what you read today and answer the question: "How can I live this out?"

Pray

Lord, thank you for the Bible. Help me to understand its relevance and apply it in every aspect of my life. Show me what I need to see and reveal to me the true condition of my heart as I seek to serve you faithfully and bring glory to your name. Amen.
