Psalm 139:23-24, “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”
Think
The Bible refers to David as a man after God’s own heart. What a compliment! Does this mean he kept his head down and led a quiet, holy life? Nope!
David was human, just like all of us. He wasn’t perfect; he messed up from time to time. So, how did he attain this lofty description? It was because of one fact: David had a desire for intimacy with God. To love God is to trust God. To seek Him is to know Him. To have intimacy with Him is to turn to Him — even when we’ve sinned against Him.
How we relate to others depends on the condition of our hearts. Open your heart to God with humility and you will experience Him in amazing ways!
Act
Keep this thought in mind today: I may not be perfect, but I am being perfected through Christ!
Pray
Dear God, I open my heart to You and desire a new level of intimacy. Help me to remain focused on the path You have set before me, because I know You always have my best interest in mind. Thank You for loving me enough to accept me as I continue to grow. Amen.
